    Dr Lanka worked as a consultant Neuropsychiatrist employed until recently as Regional Medical Director for Cygnet Health Care. He has special expertise in brain injury, alcohol related brain damage, functional neurological symptoms, work-related stress and ADHD.

    He has had experience as an expert witness in medico-legal proceedings since 2014. He receives instructions from legal firms and private organisations in providing expert opinion and medico-legal reports in personal injury, employment tribunals, family law courts and criminal courts. Dr Lanka has considerable experience in providing reports for brain injury case management organisations for assessment of prognosis, long term needs, morbidity and diagnostic clarification.

    Dr Lanka’s experience in medical management and service lead roles lends to a better understanding of the complex commissioning structures, varied funding streams and helps him identify the best clinical care and service to address individuals’ needs. Dr Lanka has keen research interest and keeps himself updated about novel treatments and advances in the management of complex psychiatric conditions.

    Dr Lanka is an Approved Clinician under Section 12 of the MHA in England and Wales. He has regular private and medico-legal assessment clinics in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool. He is also happy to carry out home assessments of claimants.
