Dr Howard took a degree in Psychology and Philosophy and then qualified in medicine at Oxford and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.  He trained at the Institute of Psychiatry and Maudsley Hospital in London, he was formerly a Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry and Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist at a London teaching hospital.

 He first received training in the forensic aspects of psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital.He has many years experience of medicolegal work preparing up to 100 or more reports a year on a wide range of civil cases including work related stress, psychiatric consequences of medical negligence and cases where the claimant is the secondary victim.  He is also a qualified barrister.

He has consulting rooms in Harley Street, London and also has access to consulting rooms in Norwich at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital
