Dr Batten has been a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist since 1984, currently employed in the NHS by Swindon & Marlborough NHS Trust, with extensive experience of both inpatient and  outpatient  assessments and treatments in the age range up to 18 years . 

He qualified MRCPsych in 1980 and was elected FRCPsych in 2006.   In addition he has a special interest in Medical Ethics, having obtained an MA in 1994. 

His medicolegal experience has been mainly over the last "6 years and includes
criminal, compensation and child care cases. He has clinics in Bristol,
Cheltenham & Swindon.
